There are many services available for carers and the people they care for. They cover many different parts of life. This is a good place to start to get help.
If you’re caring for someone, you might find it hard to take a break. But it is important that you do – both for you and for the person you care for. Respite care is when the person you care for is looked after by someone else. That can be in their home, or somewhere else. It might be for just a short time, like a few hours or overnight, or it can be for longer periods, like a few weeks.
Agedcare Alternatives is a service that helps older people, their carers and families, who need intensive support, to find and understand information about aged care.
